Need Help to Stop Biting?

There are certain ways to stop nail biting forever, but all of them need total commitment, to do this naturally there are no short cuts or easy remedies.

Firstly - you need to enlist all your family, friends and work colleagues, ask them to prod you each time you are seen nibbling!

Secondly - keep your nails short, file with a good quality nail file (NO METAL FILES OR CLIPPERS)

Thirdly - bite the bullet and visit a manicurist.
You could have false nails fitted but these are not a permanent solution, they would however, make you realise how nice your hands and nails could look!  Also, unless they are applied competently and removed by a professional, they will do your nails more harm than good.
If you are a “nail worrier” (you bite the end and wiggle it about when nervous) a false nail would only be damaged and break off, this will take some of your natural nail with it, then you are back to square one.

Fourthly - there is Hypnosis and there are many Nail Stop remedies out on the market, all of which could help. A natural way is to rub raw chillies on your nails, the taste stays in the finger nail for days – but you then can’t rub your eyes either! (boy, does it taste foul !!)

Back to the third option – a manicurist. Once your cuticles have been tidied up, your nails filed short and neat, you will instantly feel better about your hands.
If you have been biting for a while, you must treat your nails and cuticles with cuticle oil, massaging into your nail and cuticle several times daily.
